It's a service station Hotel which has got the standard McDonald's Costa ect however not near much else for the money you pay only worth it for the lake which is stunning. The hotel receptionist was lovely and friendly the room was a little disappointing, bath very shallow and wall tiles painted white with what looks like either the wrong kind of paint or cheap tile paint as all peeling off so if it had been 20 pounds cheaper I would have felt like I got what I paid for overall not bad and bed was very comfortable.

The location of the hotel is excellent just off the M6, so nice for a stop over. The scenery around is so beautiful. I phoned the hotel a day before and asked about Toiletries, Towels and Air Conditioning. I was told Toiletries are included and Air Conditioning is available but Towels not provided.  When we arrived, we found Towels were there but no Air Conditioning in rooms. The hand wash and shower gel bottles were there but empty.  Luckily fan was provided in the room. The carpet and furniture is a bit run down. If you get a deal for £40-50 for the night it might be ok for a night stopover but £135 was overly charged unfortunately because a last minute booking but it is not justified.

The hotel location is very handy for visiting the Lake District area. Booking was easy and prices affordable. We booked a room for a family of 4, and there was room enough for everyone.

Pros. Very friendly staff. Room is of good size. hotel offers voucher of 25% for food next door. It is of good value. Cons. Cannot access to the lake and hence nothing to do.

It was an amazing experience! Gorgeous scenery. Near McDonald's which is open 24.7 and Costa and WH Smiths as well.

Had read dome negative reviews but actually had a great experience. Room was spacious bathroom lovely. Fresh and beautifully clean. Loved the decor. Excellent staff, especially as I arrived 1am! Bargain at £41 as well! Will definitely use as a stopover fir Scotland fron now on!
